  1. If you want to see your brother, then yes you should go.

If you want to go to a fair, then no. It is terrible. Worse than most county fairs.

  2. As a loyal reader, I would love to hear all about how the ridiculousness/boycott pans out down there.

  5. Ye, see your brother and if you catch the parade you can see the responce to the governor and hear some strange stuff.

Always make an effort to see strange stuff man

  6. Go.
Catch a concert there if you can.

  7. Definitely go. Hanging w/ a bro is not an opportunity to waste, also should be half hilarious.

Comment by Rutro Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:10 pm

  8. See family.

If you get the chance, see family.

    Report back. Have fun.

  9. Rich. Kinda curious. With your celebrity status, how do you avoid the autograph seekers and paparazzi at these public outings?

Comment by Blue Dog Dem Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:14 pm

  10. Yes. We need an on site correspondent for any confederate nonsense that might occur. Also you can opine firsthand on whether it should continue.

Comment by Ron Burgundy Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:14 pm

  11. Never miss an opportunity to spend time with your brother. The people watching should be priceless.

    Comment by Annon3 Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:15 pm

  12. See your brother. And if anyone complains about Snoop Dog, inform them know Ted Nugent is coming to Springfield October 1st. Not a State event, but in a public facility (convention center).

  13. I’m going to a friend’s funeral tonight…Go see your brother.

Comment by Dotnonymous Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:30 pm

  14. Sure. See family and expense it as a business cost on your income taxes.

Comment by Norseman Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:30 pm

  15. Absolutely should go.

    Comment by SOIL M Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:31 pm

  16. Just hop on the Confederate Railroad and go visit your brother.

    Comment by JT11505 Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:33 pm

  17. Sure thing. Spending time with family is always good. Just be careful when they ask everyone to rise for the pledge.

Comment by SSL Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:34 pm

  18. Any chance to see family is a chance that should be taken.

And BONUS! You can tell us whether the boycott was successful, and report on any shenanigans.

Comment by JoanP Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:38 pm

  19. Go. It is always nice to visit a foreign country
If Snoop had a sense of humor he would wear a confederate flag patch

Comment by DuPage Saint Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:54 pm

  20. Definitely go, even if only to see your brother and spend time with family. Speaking from experience and sorrow, I say you need to treasure every opportunity. Take in the DuQuoin Fair, just to see something different.

Comment by Silent Budgeteer Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 3:58 pm

  21. You’ll never regret time you spent with your brother, so go.

Also, the Fair should be interesting—if not, kick back, have a corn dog, and while away the day with your brother.

Comment by Bourbon Street Friday, Aug 16, 19 @ 4:02 pm

  22. Don’t get your hopes up for Snoop to put on a good show. He does an absolutely awful live show. Saw him in St Louis a few years ago at Lou Fest and he was brutal. People were walking out in droves. The subsequent reviews in the Post-Dispatch ripped him pretty good. Then, after more reading, I found that it’s now a consensus universally that his live show is terrible.
