  1. Great news on marijuana sales revenue from Colorado, with the last two months having the biggest gains. Also, tax revenue is going in part to youth drug use prevention programs, which is terrific. Colorado high school students are using marijuana less than before legalization, which is great.

    Really looking forward to Pritzker signing the legalization bill.

    Now, that’s a governor I’d smoke out.

  3. I don’t find this funny at all. I wonder how many lives will be lost due to the normalization of Marijuana, or as the cool kids call it “cannabis.” Shameful that government now serves to expand poor health outcomes instead of curbing them.

  6. ==cool kids===

    Scientists, lawyers and plenty of other folks call it by that name.

    We live in America, land of the free and in IL on Jan. 1 adults will be free to consume it even if that means smoking the devil’s lettuce. Your puritan values are indeed unpopular, have you thought of moving to the Philippines where they are executing drug users? That may be more up your alley than the freedom loving states that are ending a failed prohibition on a plant.

    Somebody’s going to be the last person busted for smoking weed in Illinois.

    Don’t be that somebody.

    It’s significantly safer than alcohol. So if people use weed over alcohol it actually will be safer.

    Above all stop smoking it. Edibles will be legal.

  13. Any signing date announced?

  14. I have not heard anything regarding the weighing of edibles. This has been an occasional problem with the current system, where the law requires weighing all of the pot brownies rather than the amount of pot that is in them resulting in a rather large weight and higher charge.

    Any update on edibles?

  15. Isn’t it a complete waste of resources for police departments and state’s attorneys to continue prosecuting possession between now and Jan 1 since Pritzker will be pardoning those charges?

    Comment by Wasteofresources Friday, Jun 14, 19 @ 12:14 pm

  16. Wasteofresources:
    Indeed it is. Some authorities have been said as much.
