Rep. Miller Walsh appointed to committees as more Facebook posts emerge

Posted in:

* Press release…

State Representative Helene Miller Walsh (R-Mundelein) was sworn into serve the 51st legislative district of Illinois on August 18th, 2018.

Helene is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Leenie Productions, LLC, a multi-media production company. In addition to her business, Rep. Miller Walsh is involved in various philanthropic endeavors, and she has held leadership positions on several campaigns for Northwestern’s Prentice Women’s Hospital. Having experience working as a business leader while contributing to various philanthropies in the community, Miller Walsh brings a valued perspective and unique skill set to the General Assembly.

Rep. Miller Walsh was appointed to serve on the following committees in the House of Representatives:

* She does have some unique skills, and her Facebook page proves it. Or at least it did before she scrubbed it. Here’s some stuff you haven’t seen unless you followed her. Opining on Roy Moore…

* As it turns out, this video was deceptively edited…

They really like them some Gateway Pundit up there in Lake County.

* Classy…

By the way, House Republican Leader Jim Durkin was McCain’s state campaign chairman in 2000 and remained a friend.

* Rep. Miller Walsh is on the right. The guy on the left is Paul Nehlen…

From the Atlantic

After BuzzFeed published an article documenting Nehlen’s mobilization of online followers against the “Jewish media,” he tweeted out pictures of top media executives at CNN, NBC, and The New York Times with little stars of David superimposed on their faces. “Do the people pictured seem to have anything in common?” he wrote, before apparently deleting the tweet. […]

“Poop, incest, and pedophilia. Why are those common themes repeated so often with Jews?” he tweeted.

  1. To be fair we need to know when the Paul Nehlen picture is from - he ran as a Trumpian candidate in 2016, but by 2018 he had gone full Neo-Nazi.

So if the picture was from 2016 or 2017 I’d cut her some slack for that one.

To the other posts, it’s so weird that Joe Walsh has been acting like he’s so offended by Donald Trump when his wife has been posting these out there things.

  4. I’m sorry, but this looks like another total “hit job” by the liberal lame stream media that will stop at nothing to destroy another Conservative populist candidate. Wonder how much they had to pay her to post this crazy stuff on her Facebook page? Where was Rich Miller six months ago? Two months ago, ten years ago? This is bs.

  5. After the Nazi and the 9/11 conspiracy nut won GOP nominations for Congress, you would have thought Boss Rauner, his state GOP and Durkin would have leaned on Shaw to make a not-crazy choice.

Maybe there is no bottom to this reprehensible weirdness.

Pretty much, yep. But that seems to be the deal they made when they elected him and took the last decade’s turn towards insanity. Give up on the millennial generation for short term electoral victories. After Trump and this crop, I don’t ever see myself voting Republican again, not unless they really have a reckoning and get these garbage people out in a complete repudiation and exilibg, and i know quite a few people who feel similarly.

Anyways, I look forward to the apology tour people are gonna have to do in twenty years.

  34. Most of this district, through a couple remaps, was represented by Rep. Andrea Moore, Rep. Mark Beaubien, & Rep. Ed Sullivan from 1992 through 2016. It seems to me Mark Shaw sees his buddy Rauner going down and he needs a money guy in Uihlein. Shaw certainly didn’t take the views of the district into account when he appointed Rep. Miller-Walsh. That’s 26 years of center right representation down the drain.

Comment by Nagidam Wednesday, Aug 29, 18 @ 11:20 am

  35. Trump has normalized things that some would say in private. You can’t support a guy who thinks a torch mob is equal to people fighting racism and anti Semitism. When you continue to do so, more people say and do horrible things like from the new appointee. The Republican Party is now the party of Trump and people are emboldened in their racism, sexism and anti semitism. Ms. Walsh’s words are disgusting, but not surprising.

  44. =I never realized how wacky Lake County is=

As a Lake County resident I hope that you’re wrong. But I would agree that county leadership is a disaster. I don’t believe that Walsh is representative of the county or the 51st district. My hope is that members of the district don’t reflexively vote for her because she has an R behind her name.

Boy do I miss Ed Sullivan right now. Throughout his career he was able to successfully beat back challengers cut from the Miller-Walsh cloth. And there were plenty that ran against them. I never thought we’d see one of them appointed.

Comment by Pundent Wednesday, Aug 29, 18 @ 12:22 pm

  45. ===So she has opinions on a variety of topics==

Racist and bigoted opinions. Opinions that mock people with terminal illness.

No one is trying to stop her, in fact I think the prevailing sentiment is that she needs to own them. She certainly is entitled to that. Why delete them anyway? If she believes them.

Of course, people are entitled to share their thoughts as well and not vote for her. That is how it works.

She is trying to fool some of the people and they are not having it.

  55. It’s still an R district.
Her appointment will energize the Ives base, that many say, are staying home on Nov 6. The base needs to come out, it is flipping the bird to Rauner right now and doing absolutely nothing to help. Walsh could motivate that 10 points of base to come out.
That’s why these counties are running anti-tax referendums to try and bring back the base.
Plus in a solid R district has polling been done to show she’s vulnerable? Or is everyone here assuming that she’ll lose because of her FB account? Jeanne said homosexuals were weasling their way into moral acceptance with Equal Marriage, she won her district by 20+ points that cycle.

It was her personal account. And you really gotta get off the kooky sauce. The policy is advertising. If she tried to place an anti-Semitic FB ad, then, yeah, Facebook wouldn’t allow that. Neither would the TV stations.

  60. =Jeanne said homosexuals were weasling their way into moral acceptance with Equal Marriage, she won her district by 20+ points that cycle.=

The 51st district isn’t exactly the same as the Ives district in Wheaton. While Sauer portrayed himself as a bit more conservative (ironic as it is) Ed Sullivan was certainly more moderate and routinely defeated candidates like Miller-Walsh who are anything but. She might very well energize the far right but I don’t know how representative that is in the district. I supported Sullivan each time he ran. I can’t do that with Walsh.
