This should be required reading for every Illinois voter. Anyone who has been following this campaign can see that Mr. Rauner is a very sick man. He made his fortune without regard for the effects he was having on humanity. In a truly just society, I believe Mr. Rauner would be in prison. Instead he stands on the precipice of the highest office in our great state. I can’t believe that the voter of Illinois, good and true, will hand the keys to their beloved state to a maniac. These will be two very nerve-wracking weeks for those of us who understand the stakes.

Despicable, and seemingly par for the course in Bruce’s world - but I doubt it makes a difference as far as the election is concerned.
Which newspaper is going to report any of this? The one that suspends or fires journalists for reporting negative stories about Bruce, or the paper that was in the tank for him the whole time? Like someone else here said, there are maybe 3 members of the Illinois media that aren’t either scared to death of Bruce or already in his pocket.

Holy poo poo. It doesn’t surprise me at all. You see stories like this on “60 Mins”, etc. The big shocker is that since it was bound to come out, he either thought it was something to be proud of or couldn’t perceive that many of us would understand that it is pretty despicable.

People like Bruce don’t think this stuff matters because they never do anything wrong (”I’ve been successful at everything I’ve ever done”). Seriously, he has to have some kind of complex to have thought he could get by with all the skeletons in his closet. I suppose he’ll just say they’re for Halloween lol.

You folks should remember, and I’m no Raunerbot, that he wasn’t making decisions by himself. He had a batch of associates and partners along with “genius” CEOs that sourced all these deals and negotiated the terms. He says, and some facts confirm, that he was the salesman, not the numbers guy.
It’s disgusting, but it’s a reach to go from “portfolio company jacked prices on lifesaving medicine” to “Rauner jacked prices on portfolio company’s lifesaving medicine” without a lot more evidence.
The unions should save their money. “He said she said he said” has never been too compelling. Now the “taking clients to Gentlemens’ Clubs is how we do business in Texas” is a classic line even in Comic Sans.

But Republicans voted lockstep each year against consumer protections that would unseal court settlements hiding public hazards.

Tough choices for the Quinn crew in producing spots at this late point, but I’d prioritize like this:
1. Gouging babies dying from cancer. The quotes from the Bush appointees are devastating: “illegal,” “immoral,” “forced to pay millions more for life-saving medications.”
If they only do one, that’s the one. Media will have to run the story if there is a spot. Rauner will have to respond in legalese. And that spot could be the ball game when put in rotation with the other negative spots already out there. Could be the most powerful negative spot ever with the cred provided by the Bush appointees.
2. Selling poison to put on your kids heads.
3. Personally protecting crazy man with gun who slugged his secretary because he made him money. If this happened in Illinois, it would be 2.
Rauner is going to have to do a spot where he just talks to the camera and says don’t believe anything you hear about me. What else can he do? There are too many negative narratives to continue to respond to each one.

Oppo and insider pundit snark will amount to nothing in the end. The electricity is in the air - the mood is for change, Rauner is going to win this one. Obama - Clinton and all their men can’t get Quinn back in again. Can’t wait to see how the Springfield insider class will try to sugar coat the Quinn post mortem and then try to save their own skins ! A lot of insider lips are going to be trying to attach themselves to the winners posterior in a futile attempt to stay relevant/on the payroll/preserve clout etc. Shake and Hammer is inevitable.

Amalia, one can care more about one item than another and still care about both items.
I do care about workplace violence. But it’s not as pressing an issue in Illinois as the economy. Is there a bill the state needs? Is there an inordinate amount of workplace violence in Illinois? Has either candidate proposed a workplace violence agenda?
Charles Barkley, Ty Cobb, terrible people great ballplayers. You wouldn’t pick them, I would.
I am trying to make a point that despite Rauner’s character concerns, I think he is the better choice for governor. I think it’s a point worth discussing instead of treating as self-evident. But I ramble…

Congratulations, Governor Quinn. You just got re-elected assuming your crack team of ad people produces another great compelling piece on this story and it gets out ASAP. Run no other ads but this one. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the only question now is by how many points Quinn wins.
And despite having GOP friends planning to vote for Rauner, ANYONE who votes for him after this revelation–not to mention all the others–should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I hope the Republican Party is proud of their standard-bearer.

You have to know that as Quinn was starring down the barrel of a battleships fun this spring he knew the only chance was to make rauner toxic. Come to find out rauner is a terrible candidate who took for granted that he could lose. I have to believe the worst stuff is still in waiting leading up to the election in 13 days. I am heartened that many commenters feel that Freedom PAC and it’s labor allies have done such extensive and relevant Oppo research. It should be noted that a great deal of this research was completed by and paid for by SEIU prior to the Freedom PAC’s Formation. In actuality the individual that did the vast majority of the work is Dr. Don Weiner, a longtime union political operative. I believe a lot of people have had a hand in furthering the in depth work of Mr. Weiner but he certainly creating the roadmap for all of us to follow. I say all this because Mr. Weiner has done this kind of high quality work for nearly 40 years now and has received very little fanfare. I want to make sure that operatives out there understand the unprecedented scope of this research project and the tremendous contribution staffers like Don Weiner make to these campaigns all the time. Hats off to you Brother.

The issue with Rauner isn’t just “workplace violence”- heck, the bigger story here doesn’t really touch on that at all, nor does the nursing home story, the Leapsource story, the Target gift card story, the Dave McKinney story, the story about the 12 bankruptcies, or the Peyton Prep story. Reducing it to “workplace violence” is a dodge. The real problem is that it looks like Rauner is willing to do just about anything for personal enrichment. And that goes straight to every other policy decision in the race, including “fixing” the economy.
In other words, I think it’s more than fair for people to look at this stuff and conclude that Rauner *won’t* fix the economy, he’ll just turn Illinois into another bust-out scheme.

Depends on how fast Quinn’s media turn-around is. If they can get an ad up this weekend, set to run through the final week, it could be pretty devastating. Rauner has no more free media opportunities to respond.

There is no safe way to use a pesticide shampoo for lice. Even the supposedly safe and organic lice shampoo can cause reaction if used on children with allergies. All the shampoos sell themselves as safe, and then have inserts listing long warnings.
Lindane has been used safely for years. It is a serious option for doctors dealing with patients who are allergic to the chemicals used in OTC lice shampoos. It is administered cautiously. Lindane used to be a common pesticide in OTC for generations. Kids growing up in the first half of the 20th century who contracted lice were treated with Lindane. It is still used in other parts of the world.
A lot of you guys have no clue what you are talking about because you probably had no experience with lice infestations. It is the second most common reason kids miss school today. Claims that Rauner is deliberately poisoning kids with Lindane exposes your gullibility and ignorance.
Learn about lice and lice treatments before accusing someone of poisoning children for a profit. You would then recognize the difference between facts and a hit piece.
