The Capitol Complex emergency weather notification system needs to be updated based on actual warning polygons, not whenever anytime there is a warning that includes at least a small part of Sangamon County or even the city of Springfield. We were sheltering in place in complex due to at least 16 tornado warning notifications from 11:50-1:05. And not a single one of those warnings included the Complex. That’s an hour and fifteen minutes of state government time our agencies won’t get back.
