Lisa Madigan pokes a little fun at Mike the intern

Thursday, Aug 20, 2009

* I posted some video of Attorney General Lisa Madigan yesterday, but we left part of it out.

AG Madigan starts out joking about the fact that she has no GOP opponent as of yet. But then she notices my intern Mike videotaping the interview and begins talking to him. She kinda/sorta praised his performance on the blog during my vacation, but then teases him about something he wrote here…

* My old and dear friend Brian Monahan was in town this week and volunteered to help with the video duties yesterday. He got stuck taping all the speeches. Neither Mike nor Brian are in town today, and Mike accidentally took both of my video cameras back to Champaign last night, so, unfortunately, we won’t have much in the way of videos from Republican Day. I do have my iPhone, though, so I may do something.

Anyway, here are all the speeches taped by Brian…

* Senate President Cullerton
* Speaker Madigan
* Gov. Quinn
* AG Lisa Madigan
* SoS Jesse White
* Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias
* Rep. David Miller
* Raja Krishnamoorthi
* Kip Kirkpatrick
* Robin Kelly
* Sen. Terry Link
* Rep. Art Turner
* Rep. Mike Boland
* Scott Lee Cohen

    That’s funny, I just saw a guy in long raincoat who looked like Mike taking video of bathers from behind a lifequard stand on North Avenue beach.

    Terry Link “I took a red county and made it blue”

    Now I understand that all the candidates were there to pander to the DEM crowd, but does Sen. Link really think that he single-handed deserves the credit for every Democrat elected in Lake County the last 10 years? He should think hard before he repeats that claim.

    Just ask any DEM operative who has worked in Lake County how much Link did for their candidates. The answer to that question will likely translate into the amount of support that Link sees from his colleagues elsewhere in his Lite Gov quest.

    What are the odds that the Illinois Review takes that truncated quote and runs another “Rich is a biased liberal” thread tomorrow?

    Will you please send that video of Boland saying he is running for LT. Gov. to the Quad City Dispatch. The lead on their website tonight is that Boland won’t confirm on deny that he is running for statewide office! They should do a lil bit of fact checking and call him on this.

  11. - Wumpus - Thursday, Aug 20, 09 @ 8:37 pm:

    Mike accidently took both cameras. Perhaps he did the GOP a favor. Mike, did you work for the Jack! campaign, speaking of video cameras

  12. - CircularFiringSquad - Friday, Aug 21, 09 @ 7:20 am:

    Turns out Capt Fax did not need video…after TugBoatAndy bailout bungle they put the gag order out on the candidates…..quite a move….let’s work on a name for Brady…any ideas?

  13. - wordslinger - Friday, Aug 21, 09 @ 9:03 am:

    You can see why the White House stepped out publicly to try to persuade her to run for Senate. She’s got some star power. She would have beaten Kirk like a rented mule (Quinn, too).
