Does the sign really say “Warning” with a picture of a rat? Dad

  2. - Ron Burgundy - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:17 pm:

*dials 311* Yes, I’d like to report a giant rat…

  3. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:20 pm:

Wow, whoever took that photo with the rat warning sign deserves a raise.

  4. - Fan of the Game - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:21 pm:

“Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich returns to his home after being released on bond. Blagojevich was indicted on corruption charges stemming from a scheme to “sell” President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat. Blagojevich was heard muttering as he entered his home, “Who knew the kitty was wearing a wire?”

  5. - Garnet - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:22 pm:

In the middle lines, these posters say: “WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ELIMINATE THE RAT PROBLEM IN THIS AREA. STOP FEEDING THE RATS.”
A gross understatement, in this case!

  6. - carbon deforestation - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:23 pm:

The rat control sign is perfect. Patrick Fitzgerald, I salute you.

  7. - Dooley Dudright - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:23 pm:

    Whaaa…..????

Why……….that’s a City of Chicago “rat bait warning” sign on the utility pole!!!

    Compare: http://www.flickr.com/photos/supercereal/2842184945/

Ya can’t POSSIBLY make this kind of stuff up!!!

Has anyone noticed - TOMORROW is Rod’s birthday?

  9. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:30 pm:

DD, that’s why it’s the photo of the day. ;)

It just doesn’t get better than this. He wanted national attention, he got it, though the artist drawing from the hearing this afternoon kinda made me feel sad for his two young daughters. Just had to stop by the local public library to get my instant up to the minute Miller Fix, what a terrible week for my own computer to go in for repairs, I’ve waited a long time for this. The rat sign made me laugh even if I have a pet rat that is a sweetie. Stupid library gives me a half an hour, can’t read all the comments in that time. Oh Rod, Rod, Rod.

  12. - A Citizen - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:39 pm:

I’m confused - Are guv’s state troopers assigned to him his guards or his body guards? And don’t forget, in Illinois we can indict a Hairbrush.

  13. - Anon - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:42 pm:

The author of the forthcoming book “Success Without Profanity” stands dejectedly after realizing that his hopes for a blurb by the Governor are dashed.

  14. - Heartless Libertarian - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:42 pm:

So I take it Bill is out of contention for the Senate?

  15. - Justice - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:43 pm:

It is funny how all the Illinois Politicos are surprised by the arrest of Blago. All state employees and citizens have been aware of it since day one. Wait till the national media finds out how corrupt his friends are in the State Agencys: CFOs, Directors, Chief of Staffs, Dep. Directors, and OMB itself. It is no surprise we have lived with it everyday since he was elected.

  17. - Sarge - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:51 pm:

What kind of holiday does December 9th have to be declared in Illinois to have our flags flown at twice their normal height?

  18. - hmmmm - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:52 pm:

Let the feds look into how all these unqualified people in state jobs got in , Directors and acting Directors ect. And if you really want to keep busy just go down the line of all these new state agency administrators.

  19. - 312 - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 4:55 pm:

The rat sign says it all… You only see those in alleys here, and the garbage bins make it obvious. But in typical fashion, he was trying to be sneaky, and it only made him look even more comical.

I’m sure his neighbors must be thrilled with all the TV trucks from all over the country.

What a great day- I just inked a deal with a major studio to do a Hallmark Holiday Special- here is the pitch

A lonely grandmother type whose husband is away for a while takes in two wayward kids from the Northside of Chicago whose parents have also been called away. Because the same evil man took both the kids parents and the grandmothers husband away, they bond and create a new family.
At their new double wide in Crestwood, they learn the true meaning of the holidays and what being a family is, all the while being visited by various “characters” who used to work with their relatives who are now away.

    Casting starts next week

  24. - BannedForLife - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 5:35 pm:

Blago has recycling in his ward? I’m jealous

  25. - Rod sez I'm pork - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 5:52 pm:

You would think all the kitties chez Blago would take care of the rats in the alley,

  26. - Old Timer - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 6:08 pm:

I think it’s time to remove the “I’m ethical signs are you” at IDOT. There was a lot of high fives going on today. They also wanted to disconnect folks from the internet. What was she thinking? It was really nice seeing all the happy faces today. Now, if we could just get rid of some of this administration before they do any more damage at IDOT.

  27. - Wumpus - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 6:16 pm:

  29. - Arthur Andersen - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 6:44 pm:

Rejus, go away. You are a total a**hat.

Leave the kids alone. Period. Not funny.

  30. - wordslinger - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 7:29 pm:

Amen, AA. Shouldn’t have to be said.

Regarding the picture: Is it too much to ask to put on a jacket and a tie? You’re a corrupt Illinois politician. Perhaps the most corrupt ever, certainly the stupidest.

You look like a runner for Stosch the Bookie. It’s never too late to show some class.

This guy had delusions of being president? My jaw’s been on the floor all day. I saw IT coming, I didn’t see THIS coming.

  31. - Emily Booth - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 8:02 pm:

Get rid of it all: everyone Blagojevich has hired or appointed, all of the boards and agencies he created during his tenure (IFA for one), all of the funds that are disbursed at the governor’s discretion. Get rid of it all. I read the 76 pg complaint. Blagojevich and his wife are money hungry. Nothing but money hungry.

  32. - "It's An Up Day" - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 9:01 pm:

Post the picture from the Daily Herald with Rod hiding under a coat as he leaves the Courthouse.

    Bet that took some testi’s!

  33. - Ha - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 10:34 pm:

Daily Show and Colbert Report are screaming funny tonight

  34. - Dominic - Tuesday, Dec 9, 08 @ 10:47 pm:

    Shackowsky was his biggest supporter.
    Everyone looks bad on this.

  35. - Touchdown Rejus - Wednesday, Dec 10, 08 @ 10:55 am:

Hey Arthur Andersen, All the gloves came off when he put the kids at Childrens Memorial in the game
If Rod and Patti were concerned about their family why did they do what they did?
